Also known as Bharti Tele-Ventures Limited(BTVL), Airtel is the largest mobile telecom operator in India with over 70 million subscribers (as of July 2008). With mobile and fixed wireless services using GSM technology across 23 telecom circles, Airtel offers broadband and telephone services in 94 cities.
Along with mobile, broadband and telephone services with national and international long distance services, Airtel now also has a submarine cable landing station at Chennai which connects India to Singapore.
